Update for next week

Next week I will embark on a trip to Quebec, Canada. I won't be able to post anything next week(unless I find wifi and update through Itouch) I will have one of my friends post next weeks 4th of July video. It will either be Pete the panda or kittykat. So to the 2 or 3 people who actually look at this, next week we will be under new management for a day. I will post a video About the trip.

k-on!! songs on ocarina!!!!

okay so some people may not have watched/seen/know about k-on!!
it's a slice of life anime revolving around 5 high school girls who form a band in the light music club(k-on)
ritsu- president and drummer of the club
mio- bass player, vocals, shy, hates scary things
tsmugi(mugi)- keyboards, brings tea, very polite
yui- guitarist, doesn't do well in warm places, vocals, allergic to air conditioning
azusa(azu-nyan)- guitarist, super cute, always wants the group to try there hardest, youngest member
they form a band called Ho-Kago Tea Time (HTT), they make awesome music, and soon the movie will be out to dvd(in like a month). why am i talking about his because this guy did a cover of 2 of my favorite k-on songs on ocarina!

ocarina guilds

so as stated by docjazz4, tomorrow is "world ocarina day" where the local ocarina guilds come out and play there ocarinas. my town doesn't have a guild. i want to start one now! i want to plan something for :"oc awareness month" in  October. so who wants to start an ocarina group with me?

protecting an ocarina

the most important thing to any ocarinist, either beginner or pro(like super mecha death Christ mode in ocarina hero) is to protect your little ceramic flute. there are many options to protect it. one is to just be careful with it, another is to purchase your own case.  i prefer getting a case (like most people do). so here are some cases you can get for a good price( there will only be 2)

the epic thing about this case is that it's 30 dollars! that's actually pretty good because it can hold a lot of ocarinas!(depending which ones you have and how many you have)

LOZ OOT stl or songbird ocarinas?

this has come to my attention, whats the differences between the STL oot and the songbird ocarina's oot
Songbird ocarina i heard that it's more tuned properly and they have made it more of a concert series ocarina. Stl's oot is cheaper ($74) and looks better in my opinion. i'm pretty sure they are both tuned to the key  of "c" you decide which is better

totoro ocarinas

recently I've watched "tonari no totoro" or "my neighbor totoro" i noticed that, in the scene where they are on top of the tree totoro plays an ocarina! pretty neat

on the lines of totoro i found these splendid (looks like a 11 hole) totoro limited edition ocarinas, i believe they go for about.....300 dollars..... that's allot, apparently they were only sold in japan.

A brief history
The ceramic Ocarina is probably more than 12000 years old. Ancient examples have been cited -small whistles shaped like birds or other animals and made of terracotta are known in India for 6,000 years. China has a very long history of music- songs and dance had already appeared as early as five thousand years ago.
