how i got the idea for the blog

got nothing better to do at 12:00AM so why not
how i got the idea alright
so i was chatting with Ms.Cupkate (Ms.Cupkate's Blog  for the 100th time) about her blog, it was about what she should call it. after the conversation about her blog name(and several name rejections T_T), i thought of ocarina awareness and blogs. i thought "hey making a blog about the ocarina is a pretty cool idea, it will help the spread of ocarina awareness" and so the blog was created!
how i got the name for the blog is simple
the ocarina = the topic
sound = the wonderful sound it makes
the ocarina sound!

don't worry i'm not dead

 i am deeply sorry for no post in a while. i just got my mothers old netbook and it works so much better than my old one! hmmmm not much else to say....o yeah my next post will be about how i got the idea for the blog so that's something to look forward to. what else...what else.... o i'm still think'in about the album, i'll tell you this, i'm planning to release it in OCtober.

my performance at my camp

so people at the beginning, while i was waiting for my Que in the song(ballad of the goddess, cd ver., will have a download for it later) said "what's that he's holding" and all sorts of things which made me laugh a bit, at the end the response was good. i like the feeling of nervousness, and this was my first time playing(not including when i play in school for some people who request it, ends up with a lot of people watching) in front of a big group! this makes good practice for "oc awareness month" in October, because i have planes to play in the halls at school!

yeah i realize i haven't made a post about ocs in a long time so.... let's talk about tabs, yes tabs the savior of playing the ocarina! they're simple and anyone with a brain can read them, but if you really want to be good, you can learn the actual notes(something i need help in), what do you use tabs or real sheet music?

my adventure at Canada!

Update for next week

Next week I will embark on a trip to Quebec, Canada. I won't be able to post anything next week(unless I find wifi and update through Itouch) I will have one of my friends post next weeks 4th of July video. It will either be Pete the panda or kittykat. ocarina guilds

so as stated by docjazz4, tomorrow is "world ocarina day" where the local ocarina guilds come out and play there ocarinas. my town doesn't have a guild. i want to start one now! i want to plan something for :"oc awareness month" in  October. so who wants to start an ocarina group with me?

protecting an ocarina

the most important thing to any ocarinist, either beginner or pro(like super mecha death Christ mode in ocarina hero) is to protect your little ceramic flute. there are many options to protect it. one is to just be careful with it, another is to purchase your own case.  i prefer getting a case (like most people do). so here are some cases you can get for a good price( there will only be 2)

LOZ OOT stl or songbird ocarinas?

this has come to my attention, whats the differences between the STL oot and the songbird ocarina's oot
Songbird ocarina i heard that it's more tuned properly and they have made it more of a concert series ocarina. Stl's oot is cheaper ($74) and looks better in my opinion. i'm pretty sure they are both tuned to the key  of "c" you decide which is better

totoro ocarinas

recently I've watched "tonari no totoro" or "my neighbor totoro" i noticed that, in the scene where they are on top of the tree totoro plays an ocarina! pretty neat

on the lines of totoro i found these splendid (looks like a 11 hole) totoro limited edition ocarinas, i believe they go for about.....300 dollars..... that's allot, apparently they were only sold in japan.
